The Turkmen Polytechnic Institute no longer exists under that name. The institution listed under it is today the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction in Ashgabat (abbreviated TSACI). Its own website says it was established on 25 May 2012 on the basis of the Turkmen Polytechnic Institute.[1] It reports 8 faculties, 28 departments and 4,630 students.[1]
We could not confirm a place in the QS World University Rankings 2027. Tuition for foreign applicants and language requirements are not published on the pages we could read; IAU WHED lists Turkmen as the language of instruction.[2] Sources on this country are thin, so this page states what is documented and marks the gaps.

About the institute: is it still the Turkmen Polytechnic Institute?
The ranking table lists this institution as “Turkmen Polytechnic Institute”. According to the institute’s own English website, it was established on 25 May 2012 and was founded on the basis of the Turkmen Polytechnic Institute. The page also mentions 1 September 1963 in connection with the Polytechnic Institute, but the wording is unclear, so we do not rely on it.[1] IAU WHED gives 1963 as the founding year of the Turkmen Polytechnic Institute and says the institution took its present title and status in 2012, after the original institute was split.[2] Wikipedia lists 1963 in its infobox, while its history section says the institute was established on 25 May 2012, and the article does not reconcile the two.[4]
We therefore present it as the successor institution of 2012, with a predecessor from 1963. The English name varies: the official site uses “Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute”, IAU and Wikipedia use “Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction”.[1]
The institute is on Baba Annanov Street in Ashgabat.[1] The official site says the groundbreaking for a new campus took place on 1 September 2023 and that commissioning was scheduled for September 2026.[1] Wikipedia reports a campus on 32.2 hectares designed for 5,000 students, with dormitory beds for 2,600, and says a new campus complex was inaugurated on 1 September 2026; we could not read an official report of the opening.[4]
How is the institute ranked?
We could not confirm a position in the QS World University Rankings 2027 (published 18 June 2026): none of the sources we could read names this institute in the ranking. We therefore give no QS figure.
A Turkmen embassy news item lists the institute among 13 Turkmen institutions included in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026 with “reporter” status; it gives no rank. It is a state source.[3] Rankings differ by publisher and year, so treat any single position as one view. How we compile rankings.
What can you study at the institute?
The official site lists 8 faculties: Architecture and Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Computer Technology and Automation, Economics and Management, Road Construction, Civil Defence, and a Faculty of Professional Improvement for advanced training of professionals in the construction and industrial sectors.[1] It describes education in 10 fields and 34 specialisations, with bachelor’s programmes in 13 specialisations within 7 fields. Key areas include architecture, construction engineering and technologies, informatics and computer engineering, and economics and management.[1]
IAU WHED lists fields such as architecture, civil engineering, chemistry, ecology, electrical engineering, road engineering, surveying and mapping, and information technology, and records the specialist diploma (“Hünärmeniň diplomy”) as the degree. Its list shows six faculties, fewer than the eight on the official site.[2] A curriculum in English was not available on the pages we could read.
How much does the institute cost?
We found no current published tuition figure. The official English page and IAU WHED list no fees.[1][2]
One dated figure exists for domestic students. An AKIpress report of August 2019, citing the state news agency TDH, said higher education in Turkmenistan was moving to a paid model and named the State Institute of Architecture and Construction with an annual fee of 7,600 manats for that year’s intake.[5] That is a 2019 figure for domestic students; it is not a current fee and not a fee for foreign students. Ask the institute directly for current amounts.
How do you apply to the institute?
We did not find a published admission procedure for international applicants (documents, quotas, government agreements or visa steps) on the pages we could read. We give no deadlines and do not guess a route.
The institute lists these contact details: telephone +993 12 28-18-53 and 28-18-00, e-mail tdbgi@tdbgi.edu.tm.[1] Also ask the education authorities of your own country whether study in Turkmenistan is arranged through a government agreement.
Which language do you need?
IAU WHED lists Turkmen as the language of instruction.[2] The official website is offered in Turkmen, English and Russian.[1] We found no published language certificate requirement and no English-taught degree. Ask the institute which level of Turkmen or Russian it expects before you apply.
