About Taiz University

Taiz University is a government university in the city of Taiz. Its own “Location and History” page (dated 12 December 2024) says it started in 1985–86 as a branch of the College of Education of Sana’a University and became an independent university in 1994–95.[1]

Wikipedia gives a different date set: founded 19 April 1993 and opened 11 October 1995. It also says the Faculty of Applied Sciences was established in 1990–91 as an affiliate of Sana’a University.[3] The sources therefore differ on the founding date, and our table cell shows both the 1993 and the 1994–95 dates.
